As the name implies, Carolina EcoSmart provides smart, eco-friendly products to our customers. As with most of our competitors in the Charlotte area, we are tasked with the decision to choose products, in each category, to offer our customers. In most cases, we have to make choices from thousands of competing products. How do we make those decisions? There are obviously many ways to do that and most of our competitors might use words such as “finding the best product at the best price.” That is certainly a worthy guiding principle, but we add what we believe to be the most important overall component to making the right decision for our customers. You see we are homeowners in the Charlotte area as well, and we’ve chosen only the products that we’d feel good putting on our own homes. When you look at some of the manufacturer’s names that we’ve created partnerships with, we think you’ll understand why everything from your initial exposure to Carolina EcoSmart, through the in home project design, right down to the installation of the high quality products has been designed the way we would want it to happen in our own homes. Take a look at some of our product partnerships… Eco-Friendly Vinyl Replacement Windows Our replacement window partner, Owens Corning, has one of the most recognizable names in the construction/remodeling marketplace. Owens Corning was all about energy efficiency, even before it was mainstream thought. The Owens Corning V Series™ window truly fits the bill as a smart, eco-friendly product. Designed from the highest quality materials, this replacement window is designed specifically for the Charlotte marketplace. It allows you to keep more heat in your homes in the winter, while dramatically reducing the amount of the sun’s heat that comes in during the warmer months. You’ll see an appreciable change to your power bill and you’ll be helping to curb our dependence on foreign energy. Eco-Friendly Roofing Systems Asphalt Roofing Systems Seemingly more and more our roofs are being recognized for their potential effect on the overall energy efficiency of our homes. At Carolina EcoSmart, roofing is one of our specialties. We offer a couple of options with regards to roofing systems. When it comes to asphalt roofing, Certainteed™ is a name brand synonymous with quality and value in the construction/home remodeling market. When it comes to asphalt roofing what you see often is not as important as what you don’t. Certainteed’s underlayment products are guaranteed to protect while enhancing your homes ability to be more energy efficient.
Solar Roofing System Our partnership with Freedom Solar Roofing™, affords Carolina EcoSmart the opportunity to offer our customers another smart, eco-friendly product from an industry leader and innovator. Freedom’s solar roofing systems are designed to help generate electricity from their roofs. Eco-Friendly Siding We believe that in the Southeast our customers are better served by offering fiber cement based siding products, as opposed to the vinyl siding products many of our competitors offer. One of the main reasons is the lack of quality consistency among vinyl siding products. While there are some acceptable brands available, unfortunately some products aren’t worth the money. We’ve chosen Certainteed™ and James Hardie™ as our preferred suppliers. While we have already discussed Certainteed’s place in the market, Hardie fiber cement products are considered the gold standard. Hardie’s ColorPlus® paint system is designed to provide durable long-lasting color, with a higher resistance to fading. Eco-Friendly Attic Insulation At Carolina EcoSmart, a truly energy efficient home is not always about the exterior. One of the most energy inefficient parts of any home is the attic. An attic that is not insulated well enough can pass through the heat from your furnace, and anyone that has been in an attic during a Charlotte summer knows about heat build up. Eco-Friendly Gutter and Gutter Protection While most people wouldn’t consider gutters an energy efficiency issue, they no doubt contribute to the overall efficiency and durability of the roof system. An efficient gutter and gutter protection system makes sure the water is moved off the roof and away from the home that protects the structural integrity of the roof’s support mechanism.
